Lab
Each bench is a 3D model built from real catalog parts, with the physics worked out underneath. Drag things, change settings, read the numbers. On a phone, the simplified versions are coming; for now these work best on a laptop.

Michelson interferometer
Fringes, path difference, tilt and the beamsplitter ratio.
simulation
Ray tracing on a real bench
Ø2″ lenses on a rail: the ray-diagram rays traced through real glass, real images on a screen.

Mode converter
Lock a triangular cavity to one beam shape, then turn it into a donut beam with two cylindrical lenses, the idea behind my PhD work on LIGO mode matching.
simulationresearch
Rainbow machine
Sunlight on a sun-tracking breadboard: a prism stripe and a one-ball rainbow ring.
simulation
4f lens system (Fourier optics)
Two lenses and a filter in the Fourier plane: erase a mesh, keep only the edges.
simulation
Cavity alignment trainer
Walk the beam through two targets, retro-reflect, and flash the cavity modes into a clean TEM₀₀.
simulationtraining
Imaging a Bell test with entangled photons
Entangled photons from a BBO crystal: a phase object on one, a filter on the other, and a Bell violation in the camera image.
simulationquantum
Squeezed light
A bow-tie OPO and balanced homodyne detection push quantum noise below the shot-noise floor.
simulationquantum
Acousto-optic modulator basics
Bragg diffraction, frequency shift, switching speed, double pass.
simulation
Hologram bench
Record a hologram with the room lights off, then replay it.
simulation
Ray box: mirrors and lenses
Law of reflection, focal points, absorbers and templates.
